Can anyone help?
I`m just about to buy a 95M Uk Wagon,Turbo.
74K full dealer history
New 17" titanium Subaru Alloys,
Sti interior
Sti spoilers front and rear,
B+M quickshift.
Magnex cat back rear silencer.
Very nice condition.
He wants £6000. does that seem fair?
I`ve looked at loads, and lots of scooby`s seem a bit tatty.
your comment would help.

Cheers

You might want to pay a bit more for a better example: here

Sounds a reasonable price if the car is in absolute tip top condition, perhaps a little high though for an MY95 ?

If you like the car and it's want you want then buy it and don't worry ?

Anything second hand is only worth what buyers are prepared to pay. Make them a lower offer then come up to that value if you have to.

Remember that the car is 8-9 years old now, so negotiate a bit to allow you some leeway if you need to replace some wear and tear items if you buy it. Even a well looked after FSSH car may need bits replacing and Subaru parts are NOT cheap !

Thanks for all your replies,
The car in question is in pristine condition, Ive seen newer stuff with less miles in a lot worse condition.
Its just I keep thinking its quite old thats all.

I`m carless now as Ive just sold my pug 206.
So its gonna look like i`ll be getting this scoob...
Pics may follow on the members gallery.
Its a "light green" colour and apparently only 100 wagons and 100 saloons where produced in this colour.
Can anyone confirm this?

Can't confirm the exact no, but yes, light green was sold for about a year (if that) so 200 could be about right.

Follow Scratch's advice.
Assume you've checked the invoices with FSH to see if clutch* has been replaced, cambelt etc.

* Clutches can apparently go anywhere from 60K to 110K. I was told good check is to try and set off normally on flat ground in 4th - if suceed then clutch on way out. Should stall!

Of course Sulli's right - but sure if you could spend more you would! If it's in good nick and you're happy with the paperwork, sounds like a fair-ish price but worth a haggle: 95M is old!

thanks for the tips,
I`m checking out the invoices etc this Sunday.
The car has been looked after by Robinsons of Rochdale all its life and apparently still have all the job cards too.
I`ll try the 4th gear thingy.

Have a good look at the paperwork to see if /when these bits have been replaced and use to negotiate with :-

- Exhaust silencer
- Clutch
- Brake Discs & Pads
- Cam belt. the 45k one may have been 4 years ago, so I'd think
about having another one done (or at least say you will-£200)
- Battery
- Any wheel bearings needed ?
