Advice from Manchester Scooby Owners
#1
I am now living South of the border but will be going too see all the Relatives in Manchester soon. (hmm cheap beer and northern ladies can't beat them )
Do I really need to be worried about my Scoob or people breaking down my Nan/very ill aunties house door to get the keys.
I am not worried about the car but dont want to put my relatives in danger!!!
Just wanted to know what it is like up there at the mo as I am VERY paranoid about my scoob.
Cheers for the tips/advice in advance.

All depends where you will be staying, yes there are areas worse than others, same as anywhere. I live in Bolton (just north of manchester) you hear lots of stories about cars goin in the night, but nothing round where I live. Keep scoob off the road at night if you can away from prying eyes.
But at the end of the day its the same the country over.

Yes, be very afraid. It is a little known fact, but there are now no performance cars left in Manchester that aren't tucked away in back street hideaways ready for 'jobs'
As soon as you cross into Greater Manchester, the scum (aided by the pigs in their spotter vans) alert the yoofs in Moss Side who will follow you and pay you a visit in the middle of the night, merely removing your car for you to a 'safe' garage.
I'd borrow a scooter or get the train, if I were you
Good luck!
Gordo
p.s. you'd probably be best to leave your mobile phone and wallet at home as well - there are separate organisations in place to relieve you of those, too

As stated depends where your going to leave your pride and joy, moss side or wythenshawe and your asking for it to get done over, most places are ok, no different to london borough's, having lived/worked in both, had my scoob up here for 3 years now and not one attempt at it.................just Murray Walkered myself haven't I :0

Gordo and your from GLASGOW
Have you ever been to Manchester
Nothing wrong with Manchester often drive my scoob there. Just like every other town / city watch where you park it. ie in well lit area with lots of cars

Oh dear... got to agree with John. Manchester is not different from any other big city.
Having said that i of course knicked the scoob i drive (i come from Manchester and i'm a little bit dodgy).... i'll be on the look out for yours and 'ave it away before you can blink. I'd also say that for any trip into Manchester a bullet proof vest would be wise 'cos you have a 90% chance of being shot at. Then there is the possibilty of being knifed or just plain having the **** beaten out of you. I'd say sod the relatives and stay down south where the sun alwasy shines and you can still leave the scoob unlocked.....
Tony.

hello mate.
I have just had my Green pads fitted anout half an hour ago so I am off to try them out in a bit. I have a number for you to call when you get yours.
Yea I was born up there and moved down South when I was about 8 so I have lost the accent and everything.
Still cant wait to get the downpipe put on but seem to be too busy every weekend at the moment!!!!
I take it your pleased then

Oh yes ! had the green pads fitted by scoobysport along with the centre last week.
It sounds like a beast
Be careful with those pads ensure they are warm before using in anger had a hairy moment at around 110 approaching a roundabout and they didn't seem interested - glad the hand brake and gears were in full working order.
Currently off sick
May have to go out for a drive
