Cool

Well I am so chuffed I just have to tell someone!!

I went to Powerstation today for a service and to have my Gruppe-S headers fitted! (Thanks Ben)

Afterwards I thought it would be rude not to have it on the rollers.

Imagine my suprise (and everyone else who was there) when my little MY96 uk turbo pulled 296.5BHP!!!

None of the mods I have done are extensive so I was very pleased with this to say the least.

Thanks to all at PS for really making my year!

I have done nothing but grin since

Ade

Nice 1

Any idea what your power was before the headers?

I'm booked in at powerstation next Monday to have my unichip re-mapped with the new headers I hope to fit this weekend if all goes well.

I'm also swapping the TD04 turbo for a VF28.

was making around 240bhp /240lbs last time at powerstation - just wondering what gains I'm likely to get.

Cheers

Rich.

The only comparison I've got is quite old I'm afraid..

I had it on the rollers at Power engineering a couple of years ago but have made quite a few alteration since then. That was 271bhp.

I have gruppe-s headers,
blitz induction kit
TSL D/P
Blitz centre
Blitz BB
Forge dump valve
Walbro fuel pump
And a ScoobyECU module

Thats it engine wise!! That is why I was so pleased!!!

Its an early 96 car so it has the TD-05 running at about 15-16psi.

Question

What are the AFR's like?

I say this as thats fantastic power for 380's on that RR. Have you increased the fuel pressure?

Well done, I have a similar setup to you (bar the headers) and hope to get around the same figures at Xtreame on Saturday, heres hoping

The car runs sweet as a nut my AFR meter lights up blue (dawes one) every time I go WOT. On the rollers I think they said I have got +6% of fuel so is very safe. (i could be wrong with that figure but i think thats what they said)

The only change to the fuelling is the walbro pump.

Do not wish to be negative, but the only % figure I have heard when talking AFR is CO, and IIRC 8% is about as low as you want to go on full boost with safety in mind.

Do you have a knocklink?

Not too much really

I'm running 17"radius R2s

Hi-Spec brake converstion

I changed the standard poo interior for a better one then just cosmetic stuff

Like Morrettes MRO front lip side skirts and rear corners and a STI V rear wing

A few handling mods aswell bumpsteer rear anti roll bar and drop links a front strut brace and eibach springs.

That's all I can remember for now

I know how you feel Ben I was like a kid at christmas over the weekend... I just kept looking at the box with the headers in and getting all excited!!

It'll be worth the wait thought!! With everything your having done I think 300bhp should be a formality!!!

Remember that Powerstation's rollers are known being quite conservative. If you dyno'd your car elsewhere, you'll certainly be >300bhp!

I gotta say the longer I drove it afterwards the better it felt I'm wondering if the ECU has now made the most of the newly added headers???? I think I'll take it back down after a long run on a cold day

"Headers" are exhaust manifolds. You can read about them on this old group buy thread. They flow exhaust gas more efficiently than the original manifold.
