Urgent query on Dutch WRX
#1
guys,
a mate is on his way to look at a Dutch WRX '52 plate import (5.42 PM on Mon 8th Sep)
IF the seller cannot state it is "full UK SPec" are there any differences with the Dutch model.
Think the guy want £13500 with 9000 miles which seems a tad steep- no alarm and proably only 1 year dealer warranty for a Dutch car????
cheers

If the cars via Holland it should be UK Spec. Make sure the owner has the Certificate Of Conformity.
Warranty should be three years. On my MY00 it was only a year but I'm sure they extended it to three years on more recent imports.
I would expect it to have an alarm. If not the Sigma M30 is only around £300 ish.
If your mate purchases it he will need the VAT papers - its a legal requirement for the seller to hand proof of VAT payment over I believe.
Cheers,
Ian.

to get warranty validated by IM the seller needs to have registered the car with IM - otherwise your mate won't get any warranty work authorised by a UK garage. If the seller hasn't he can - he needs the CofC and the original selling dealer 9ie Dutch dealers) invoice...
