Is my speedo out?
#1
Cos the needle got to 155mph lastnight?
In know the speedo isnt that far out at 40, 50 and 60 unless my gf's car and my parents car are also out!
Edited to add: MY93 WRX running Optimax, full decat, panel filter and remap to 15.7psi

All speedos are 'out' - I have a Snooper S6-R radar detector which shows true roadspeed by GPS, and its generally 5-6mph lower than the speedo reading. This is one of the reasons why the police generally don't nick people driving at a speedo-indicated 80mph (on the motorway) as in reality they are doing about 74-75.

According to my GPS unit, my MY02 speedo is 10% out. So, at an indicated 80 mph, it's only doing a true 72....
That's unless a couple of satellites are out of orbit....

GPS units are not /that/ accurate. I don't know what element your radar plays as part of it but the GPS accuracy depends much on the number and spread of satellite coverage. Bridges and tress on the not so big roads cut a GPS' acuuracy.
The "better" GPS models indicate how accurate they are by providing a position error - sadly this cannot be used for self correction.
The only ones I use are in aircraft - the odd few knots/miles per hour aren't so much an issue. Well, there isn't any speed limits :-)
