03 WRX PPP - So how do I now get to 300bhp+?
#1
I know it would void my warranty but theoretically how would I get to 300bhp+ if I chose to take the risk? I have done 7000 miles (6000miles with PPP) but would love a bit more 'go' now. I love my wagon's stealthy characteristics (except the brakes!!), but would just like a bit more 'in hand'.
So what is required to get 300bhp+?
How much would I need to spend?
Would it make for 'spikey'/undriveable power delivery?
Realistically how much higher is the risk that it might go pop (and what sort of bill would I be facing if it did)?
And is there a way to achieve it that doesn't require taking stuff back off every year to pass the MOT (not that it will need an MOT for a couple of years)?
I know it's still early days for the 03WRX's, but would love to hear from any 01/02 WRX owners who have done it?

Speak to Roger Clark Motor Sport. 300bhp is not a probem. They already have several new shapes circa 400bhp but that level is quite expensive. The first stage is a full de-cat including up-pipe and complete exhaust. This will also improve spool which is not very good in the first place. You then need to look at induction and ECU set up. Drivability at 300 bhp is not an issue providing you have a comprehensive package.Fuel consumption will only be heavier when you use the new found power.
