Service Interval and Cambelt Change
#1
Got a MY00 which is due its 45k service. In the maintenance book it says that the cambelt does not need replacing until 60k service. However, I've seen a few people on here saying they had their's done at 45k........
Does the MY00 need the cambelt doing at 45k or was it the MY99 that had it done then?
Sorry - slightly boring topic!

According to the service book, MY00 are recommended to have their cambelts changed at 60,000 miles. The cars previous to that were 45,000 miles.
I guess it's a personal choice, but with my old MY99 I had it changed at 37,500 miles for peace of mind (and to spread the cost out a little, rather than have a huge 45,000 miles service bill!)
That said, if the belt were to snap before the recommended service interval, I don't think Subaru would do anything about it!
