Hi,

are there any significant benefits of using Optimax rather than normal 95 RON UL ?

Uptil now have been using normal unleaded but I've heard Optimax increases efficiency and possibly a slight effect on performance ?

NUL will destroy yer engine, simple.

Always use SUL/optimax on a turbo charged car.

Would you seriously risk sticking crap pump petrol in a 25k new car ?

Scoobs seem to det from the factory on NUL, not really interested what the manual says, just from use.

If you use NUL in a scoob then u can't drive it hard enough to damage it, whats the point of having it ?

Imports need to run 100+ ron fuel in an ideal world.

Sweeping statement.....erm, just straight to the point....

Detted pistons, and exhaust valves being fecked aint my idea of fun, i guess warrenty will cover some cars, but its still a rebuild if yer melt a piston.

Put my first lot of fuel into my new STI 8 on the weekend. The manual does not give any recommended fuel rating, but the fuel filler cover has a sticker on it stating 98 RON minimum.

Optimax it is then ...

Dingy - why did Subaru quote the 215bhp power outputfor the MY01/02 running on 95 ron petrol, if they knew it would destroy the engine.

Why programme the engine map with such large saftey margins and then advise people that's it's ok to run the WRX on 95ron? What's your proof that running on 95ron will destoy the engine?
