hi, 3500 miles into my first scooby, (black MY03 sti with silver prodrive 18" wheels, yes!) loving every minute of it, despite living in sheffield with the crappest roads in the world.
anyway, really interested in some advanced driver training to help me get more out of this bad-*** of a car, as at the moment i am simply not worthy! so, does anyone have a school they can recommend to me? would really appreciate the advice
cheers all!

contact local police headquarters, they often run advance driving courses or can advise on who else to approach

I don't know if this is exactly what you're after, but how about these:

http://www.1stlotus.com/
http://www.drivingdevelopment.co.uk/

I've been on the 1st lotus course myself, and it's superb.

Hello from a fellow Yorkshireman now living down South.

I'm up in Sheffield next week and you're right - absolutely the worst roads in the entire universe.

Made the same enquiries a while ago myself.
Was put in touch with a firm called Driving Technique in Birmingham. Spoke with a chap called Mark. Offers a 1, 2 or 3 day course depending on what skills you want to learn.
Very helpful when I spoke to him.
E-mail is enq@drivingtechnique.co.uk
Tel: 0121 7063734
Good luck

Check out the Scotland forum - got a days use of a skid car lined up. Can easily arrange transport from the airport for anyone coming from out of the city

Haven't been on the course yet scoobysug.
Give mark a call and have a chat. Sounded very on the ball when I spoke to him. The only downside is that the training is done in your own car. This may involve half a day on a track.
The reason being is so you know the limit of YOUR car. Not a training vehicle.

£100 each. Site implies this is for groups of 4 that you have to find, but in fact the proprietor will do this. But it's good to go with other Scoobies, and I went with a casual pick-up group following an SN post.....
