Question

According to Subaru Information Pages you can set the alarm to make a sound when its being set and unset just by entering a code. does anyone know if this works on the std UK My00 model (before I get off my **** and go out in the rain and try it) ?

Yup,

it should work - it does on my MY00, which i picked up at the end of January. In the end i decided against letting it beep though.

I presume you already know the codes?

I've just read all the posts, and would like to make mine bleep when setting.
However I have had a look in the alarm book and can't find where it says how to do it.
Can someone tell me where it says as I must be stupid, it wouldn't be the first tim that i'd looked for something only to find it staring me in the face.
Cheers
Ron

It works on mine Otis! I think you only have a short time to press the keypad key.

For MY99 Onwards it is also possible to select auto arm mode. The alarm can be set to activate fully after 39-45 secs even if you do nothing but leave the the vehicle with alldoors closed. Not very practical if you leave a passenger in the car who then decides to open a door after the system is set. This facilty I believe can only be set with dealer computer and is normally selected as off on delivery. Useful for the lone driver who always forgets to set the the alarm or never locks the car.

Also keypad 7 option switches audible alarm on and 6 off. Switch ignition on then press key fob once then either 6 or 7 on key pad then switch ignition off.If it fails dealer can do with his computer.

Mine (MY99) auto arms after about 40 seconds.

Really amusing when you leave a passenger in the car and take the keys with you.

The look on their face can be hillarious if they don't know

This can also be over-ridden.

Before getting out of the car, turn on the ignition but don't start the engine. Press the remote button, get out of the car, close the dors and arm the system as normal. The indicator lights will flash eight times, not four, and the ultrasonic sensors will be deactivated, but the other alarm/immobiliser features will still be active.

Regards,

James

Question

Noticed a couple of posts here talking about the alarm auto-arming after a period of time. How exactly can you tell the alarm to do this??

I have a MY00 UK car.

As an aside, does anyone know what option 1 and 3 is, or could possibly be, in the programming mode?
