Can you believe it???
Fitted it yesterday, along with the APS air splitter for the APS TMIC (are you sensing a theme here?) and went for a 'spirited run' and when I got back and turned off the engine I noticed the reflection contours on back part of the scoop weren't 'level'.
When I got out to look, would you believe there was a section at the front bottom of the scoop where it has warped up almost a centimetre, and about 7cm long!!!!!
I am NOT impressed, and there is a rats chance in hell of me getting an sti7 one colour coded in time for Japfest on saturday, bearing in mind I'm on the track at 9am.
Anyone got any suggestions? Would 3m tape hold it down or will the heat just make it lose its stickness???

Thats not good mate, sounds like a serious design/materials flaw!!!
I would be tempted to get an OE one anyway for trackday and colour code it later, looking good is far less important than not causing any damage to your actual bonnet!
(Perhaps it melted from the heat of the sunshining off your newly polished cockpit!)

Standard WRX scoop. (its a wrx I've got not the sti7)
I can put that on but it means taking off the APS air splitter also, so my APS TMIC won't be getting the correct air flow...

Yeah none of my local ones have any in stock and they need a part or chassis number to make certain its the right part.
I think I'm just going to get some 3M double sided trim tape and try to stick it down.
Isn't there some heat sensitive tape that bonds more with heat?

Thanks mate.
As the car has cooled, its gone almost back to normal, so will try taping it underneath tomorrow and going for another run...

I had the same problem. Also APS intake scoop on a new age WRX. Because I read about this problem I thought I would cure it by protecting the scoop from engine heat by sticking heatreflective alu tape to the underside of the bonnet on the areas where the scoop meets the bonnet. Also put it on the underside of the scoop itself. Didn´t work. This **** warps like hell. Wrong material I think. I fixed it by drilling holes in the front and the back of the scoop and hold it down with bolts and nuts. Works fine but looks bad. Dealer said he never heard of this problem before although the problem was already mentioned on here. We can´t be the only ones who have experienced this problem. He offered to take it back and give me a refund. But that´s not a good solution to me as I don´t live in your country. Doesen´t the vendors related to Scoobynet know what they are selling? Guess I´ll just have to stop buying from the net. Would rather like to hold and feel before paying as this is not the only problem I´ve had related to buying from the net.

Get a refund. I got mine from the states and they refunded me fully, and I now have genuine STi which has been fine.

TSL keep them in stock, and it was pounds!!! Not cheap. But as this shows, you get what you pay for.
