Unhappy

got some headers put on the car and since they have been on there has been 2 light on constantly on the dash they were only battery and handbrake so i didnt think they were anything to worry about. ive done a bout 500 miles in the car before i got me mate to have a look at it and it turns out the harness has been touching the headers and the heat from the headers has started to melt the harness. got it sorted today but was told it was a really bad fire risk while ive been driving the car it could have just burst in to flames anytime and an engine bay fire would have wrote my car off. think ive been pretty lucky <phew>

You should have wrapped the headers in exhaust wrap, keeps the heat down.

Should always check no wires near exhaust, guess missing a cable tie or something.

Thats a fire risk??? I had a (extremely foolish) mate who drove around his crap fiat cinquecento for a month with a damaged fuel line spraying directly onto the battery! That wouldve been proper darwin awards if that had gone up
