If you read page 4 of the latest true grip mag cheam motors are clearly offering 10% discount on parts and labour?

So - does that mean ppp is £1800 off them?

I have just negotiated £1900 with the puchase of my sti8 from mainland (who in the back of the mag on p48 also give discount - 10% i believe?)

So

1. Does this count when people feel like it?
2. Should i moan and ask for 100 quid back from mainland?
3. Is anything from prodrive exempt from the deal?

Also do TSL do 10% off, a firestorm at £330 sounds quite good

PPP is supposedly a labour-free deal, ie you are paying for the parts, so they don't discount it as part of the 10% offer.

edcase - the advert clearly says parts and labour? so if you wanted a set of mudflaps you wouldnt get 10% off?

I would be interested if any dealer reading would like to give the real cost of the ppp to them?

No, you would get the discount on mudflaps. PPP is a special case as its not a seperate parts and labout cost, its an all-inclusive price, you cant split it.

edcase - u have lost me?

if its parts or labour or both you should get 10% off, or they should put an exclusion of ppp in the advert!

I know what you are saying, all I know is that PPP is a 'special case'. I'm sure I heard someone say that the dealer doesn't actually make any profit, or no profit from the fitting or something.

Anyway...

sounds like the usual rubbish the dealer spouts - 'we arn't making anything on this' - if i had £1 every time i heard that i would have my sti8 paid for

Anyone know if TSL give SIDC discount?

Edcase,

I can guarantee you the dealer makes more than 10% margin on the cost of the PPP but you have to remember that doesn't include their time to fit it so out of the margin they make, they have to deduct the cost of the time to fit it. The rest is "real" profit.

Whatever, the SIDC is purely a "gentleman's agreement". Anything you get is better than nothing...
