Just seen new WRX SL in showroom
#1
Took my car to RN Golden in Huddersfield today for it's 1,000 mile service. They have a rather sexy WRX SL in stock. It's a 4 door in silver. The SL comes with full black leather interior and inner door panels plus a sunroof for an extra £1500 over the standard WRX price. The leather looks fantastic on the car. I managed to get just over £1000 off my WRX so I'm sure they would do a good deal. Also had a new STI in stock (in blue).

Not so sure I would want a sunroof. I had one on my MY99 and it creaked and rattled over bumpy roads. Whats the point in having a sunroof and aircon anyway? Couldn't they have put 18" alloys on instead??

Did you actually sit in the car?
I had a wee seat in the one at T&C in Perth and while the leather looks fantastic, Ifound the seats to be about as supportive as the 'sport' seats in the MY01 WRX.
On top of the lack of support, the leather was super-slidey.
IMO, this doesn't add up to the kind of seats you want holding you in place on a spirited run.
Keep it for the pipe and slippers brigade
While there on Sunday, I had another chance to look over the STI8.
It's taken several viewings but it's grown on me.
All it would take to sort it would be swap the scoop with the scoop off the standard WRX
or
swap the bonnet with a scoopless sport bonnet and fit an FMIC. This would give an EVO-tastic front end

sunroofs are cool- they let in more light
Personally, I prefer much lighter leather (cream, light grey, beige, red ) and would prefer it if they'd done something like that.

Just to add on this. The seats are all leather and that the seating is perforated. Also they are just as supportive as the WRX03 seats with the added bonus of wear and tear. Didn't sit in the rear but look nice. The sunroof definitely allows plenty of light in the car and lifts the car from its bland interior. Personally, gives the car a bit of luxury along with it's performance. leather / heated seats / sunroof - £1,600 Bargain!

I agree with Scooby Dooby Blue. Whilst the seats look good, they are crap in the support factor and slippy as hell. The sun roof is about as big as a packet of **** and seems to be a waste of time! Maybe the extra looks are aimed at trying to get TT drivers to convert?

just as supportive as the WRX03
Still not over impressed with the shortness of the base of the 03 seat. The 00 was better in this area - but the lumbar support in the 03 is better
So, 03 back and 00 base please
And not leather, it's too slidey. And definitely not back leather. It's too 'kin hot on a summer's day - I speak from experience of shorts, a Renault 19 16v with black leather and a sunroof, and painful legs
Actually, the 19's seats were possibly the best I've ever had in any car, apart from the leather
