Dave,
If you don't mind me asking, did you like the VX220 Turbo?
I'm test driving one on Sunday so I would appreciate and independant point of view before being exposed to the 'hard sell'!
Wuss.

As the geezer said, I ordered one on Wednesday
I've always liked the VX220, but it wasn't quick enough. The turbo has fixed that
I've driven three Elise's, one on track, and the general comment that it is a slightly softer/more refined Elise is pretty accurate. The turbo has about 10% stiffened up suspension. Surprised how easy/nice it was to drive.
The demo VXT I drove only had 55 miles on, and like any other new car it was very tight. I drove the NA VX220 straight afterwards, and it didn't feel that much slower, so I expect the Turbo to be even more manic after a few thousand miles If not, Regal have a remapped one at 243bhp/274ft/lb
Overall I was very impressed
www.vx220.org.uk is worth a look.

Oh, and did I mention, I ordered it in Calypso red, with red leather and a hardtop and managed (as the blagmeister ) to get £2403 off list price - nice

Yep, it's a poxy Vauxhall, but I don't care (like an Impreza has a good reputation, and you don't get sh1ttier depreciation than on a MY02 STi ) - still looking forward to toasting a few Imprezas on a trackday in my poxy Vauxhall this year

Same engine, the Ecotec 4 (although there are probably some ECU differences between the Astra/VXT versions).
Should you be worried? Only if I appear in your driveway with a bag of spanners looking for a spare engine
