Got me a bucket and a sponge and some fairy liquid, I'll do it for a tenner, and I promise to put loads of furniture polish on your pedals and steering wheel

If a company who's posts have just had to be removed continues to abuse this thread to advertise free of charge, we will have to lock the entire thread which will spoil it for the person who is trying to gain information.

Gossy, I have asked a number of times for you to contact me, and have even (on your request) emailed you myself to start the conversation off, and you have not replied.

Please do not continue to spoil scoobynet. You are damaging your own reputation as a result.

Regards

webmaster

Ahem! One of my posts seems to have gone astray

Could someone somewhere explain why? All I did was to recommend a valeting company (which I won't name again in case this one goes walkies), in line with other people who have recommended companies in other threads.

I am not related to that company, hence me being bemused at my disappearing post, especially if others are allowed to do it. It would appear that someone (must be a mod or the webmaster) has a downer on this comany at the moment for some reason (I don't know why, neither do I particularly care), but what have I done?

Could someone explain to me by email please, address is in my profile.

Thank you.

I dont really want to get involved but may you shoudl change the T&Cs on account creation. These are the rules you sign in by :

If you agree to abide by our rules below, you should press the "Agree" button, which will enable you to register. If you do not agree, press the "Cancel" button.
Considering the real-time nature of this message board, it is impossible for us to review messages or confirm the validity of information posted. Please remember that we do not actively monitor the contents of posted messages and are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this BB or any entity associated with this BB. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact us immediately by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately. You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this BB to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyrighted material is owned by you.Although we do not and cannot review the messages posted and are not responsible for the content of any of these messages, we reserve the right to delete any message for any reason whatsoever. You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s).We reserve the right to reveal your identity (or whatever information we know about you) in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you.

and the T&Cs summary

Important - Opinions expressed are not necessarily the opinions of ScoobyNet or any individuals directly or indirectly involved in this website or the companies and individuals associated with it. No responsibility is taken or assumed for any comments or statements made on this or any associated or relating bulletin board. Your personal information will be kept private except to comply with applicable laws or valid legal reasons. For more information

There is nothing about companies signing and advertising in there. They only find this out when they try and get their posts deleted/edited. Which IMHO for a new member to the board is not particularly friendly.

Obviously I dont know what has gone on as its none of my business but maybe it needs putting the T&Cs explicitly that any companies wishing to promote their business or products should contact the webmaster before doing so and be offered a scoobyshop account or a banner advert.

Question

Hmm, with all these recommendations, please let me know why my post doing the same thing (but not necessarily for the same company ) was deleted.

Many thanks.

Brett555 that I think would be no problem reading the threads on here if you can get a few of you together at the same time.

Following on from this thread

A commercial post is defined as any post by employees or their associates that benefits either, directly or indirectly the company involved.
I am neither an employee or an associate of the company I recommended. I have used the service, as it would appear have a number of others, an I do know the "gentleman" in question, but that does not make me an associate (or are you using the term in the loosest possible sense?)

When will my thread be edited/deleted?

Your thread or post may be edited or deleted if it contains
o Pornography, links to Pornography or links to other inappropriate sites. As a guide anything rated 12A or above may be removed without notice.
o Swearing and offensive words, which includes the use of censored swearing using asterisks (for example) or the circumvention of the swear filters. This also includes offensive words embedded in images
o Inciting a flame war within this or any other forum Any sort of pyramid selling or referral schemes
o The advertising and sale of illegal bootleg material (such as copied DVDs, VCDs and computer software)
o Xenophobia, racism or personal abuse
o Spam or any other form of unauthorised advertising.
o Anything invasive of a person's privacy.
o Anything that is deemed by Scoobynet as potentially libelous.
o Flagrant disregard for the interests of the community(anti community spirit)
o Threads of a sensitive nature that cannot be moved, locked edited.
o No part of the topic/message is salvageable by editing Illegal/defamatory statements
o Remove any copyright-infringing material (either text or graphic)
o Basically, whenever there is no value to the community that demands leaving the topic/message in place.
Nope, none of the above, unless you are calling it "unauthorised advertising", in which case may I humbly suggest that you go through and remove all references to AP, Brembo, Pirelli, Goodyear, Michelin,... None of these companies have banner adds and you cannot buy direct from them in the Scoobynet shop. I should also note that I did not mention a company by name in my post, although I may have mentioned the name of the person providing the service, much like others mention the W*x W*zard and pass on his details on here (hmm thats a thought, it must be National Nail a Valeter Week ).

Ah, just noticed it:

Scoobynet reserves the right to remove, or edit any thread for legal or other reasons.
The catch all, "we don't like the cut of your jib sonny so we are going to delete it" phrase. Nice, hats off to you, good to know freedom of speech is still alive and kicking

Hope to receive mail soon, I'm getting lonely
