assuming the sender is in the same place on my my00uk, it's inder the back seat, you need to udo the two bolts below the rear seat, sort of at the rear of the footwell, then the seat base should lift/pull out, you'll find the sender and wires on the drivers side.

Toppo,
Is this a new problem?? My girlfriend went to get some petrol in mine last week before setting off somewhere. Comes back 5 minutes later and says the gauge isn't working. I gave it the obligatory fist and it slowly came back to life.
It happened again this weekend. Seems to do it when I let it get really really low which I know I shouldn't do!!

It takes at least £15 - £20 to make the gauge move enough to put out the low fuel light on My MY99.
Fill er up and see if the gauge reacts differently, Sounds as if its just a loose wire.
