Has anyone else had the boot release on their bugeye play up?
Mine just won't release and a trip to Quenby's will be order of the day. My first warranty work, whoop whoop...

Have you checked the catch in the boot that disables the interior release?

Does this boot switch exist on classics too?

I had the same on my 96UK turbo and now on my 98 Terzo

Thanks

How stoopid do i feel

I never knew about that switch, at some point i must have inadvertently switched it to the off position i thought it was knackered when it didnt work.

Thanks 3times, i wont have to switch the engine off, take out the keys and open the boot now when i want to put something in it

Thanks for the mail Cel

Well at least you didn't take your new Terzo back to the dealers and ask them to book it in to be fixed

Thats how to feel really stupid - good response though -

"Can we check it for you now Sir? It's quite a common fault & think I know what the problem will be" ........ "Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience that really should have been pointed out when you collected the car.

Diplomatic or what

Sorry to take so long to reply, limited access to computer and didn't get to read the reply until now. Yes, it was the boot catch thingy. The very nice man at Quenbys gave the same advice over the phone. A wise man once said, "You should learn one new thing every day". What will tomorrow bring?

SimonGT,
In a word- security. If you deactivate the internal boot release then someone who smashes a window and gets to the drivers area can't then easily have a peek in your boot.

if they want to get into youre boot they wldnt know the interior release doesnt work until they have smashed ur window.as for the the boot lock these are pathetic and held in by a horshoe clip and are normally off in about 3 secs with a screwdriver or slide hammer.

Then theres the route into the boot from the rear folding seats

I cant see the point of having a switch there either

Just another thing to confuse us "not in the know club" with
