NZ may be the only country to get DCCD with the 2ltr engine, all other export markets get the low octane version..

Cool

I am not too sure if I have heard or read right, but the 2.5 STI may be coming to Australia.

If it does, then I will be damn sure that I am as close to the front of the queue for a test drive as I can get.

Thumbs down

Comes down to cost at the end of the day. It costs more to put the DCCD on cars and would make the UK more expensive. Also I dont think you cant fit ABS on a DCCD car.

Price is not the answer. The USA spec STi 2.5T gets the DCCD-A at a fraction of the cost of a UK spec STi8.

DCCD-A works with ABS no problem.

There is absolutely no reason why the European market cant have the DCCD-A and until FHI/IM wake up i will always buy Grey Import Japanese spec. Why spend your money on an inferior product?

Surely the diffs are more expensive and electronic hardware. Why not fit it to all the JDM cars ?. Also they have to be warrantied and fixed if they go wrong ?

The american market is a lot bigger than ours and I guess they need to extra gadgets to win the market share.

of course it's going to cost a little bit more, but why is the Euro market always paying more for a lower spec car?

The only answer i can come up with is greed. Most europeans are stupid enough to pay top whack for an inferior product, so why would they change?

Look at the spec of the USDM or JDM spec STi then look at how much that costs in that market, the UK price is a bad joke when you compare specs/prices.

I agree John it comes down to profit it at the end of the day. The funny thing is that if they put is as factory option how many would order it ?. I know the enthuisiats (like yourself) would but the average bloke in the street wouldnt bother if it was going to cost another 500 quid for example.

Wink

John,
Perhaps IM think we are not bright enough to use it Or is Europe using up all the old Cr4p first

The JDM version DCCD is an optional extra IIRC. I believe there is also an "Auto mode" so surely had us in mind LOL

Is the one on sale in NZ to JDM spec? Cars in Hong Kong also get DCCD, cos they sell JDM cars here.
Basically, each importer decides from a list what sort of equipment they want standard on their cars. Maybe most European importers didn't tick the box next to 'DCCD', so FHI didn't bother to homologate the thing for Europe.
