Thats what people posting on how expensive it is dont understand there were 400 JDM ones and only 16 UK ones. The 35K one is a UK one ie 1/16 not a JDM one 1/400. i.e. much rarer.

All the other listed in this thread in comparison are JDM models at those prices .

Good chance that the UK ones had their warranty extended as well. If you buy as a subaru approved form a Subaru dealer it will have 1 years Subaru Uk warranty on it.

Also told recently that there are now less than 300 22Bs left worldwide

IMHO you will regret buying a 22b over your P1. Its a nice car but not worth the extra. If your insistant on buying, a good low milage jap would be a better buy than a Uk car as the warrantys have nearly run out on UK cars now. 22b prices are dropping and there are some good low milage examples around for considerably less than 30k, so why would anybody want to buy a UK car at 35k ? Keep the 6, 7, or 8k you save and buy yourself a run around as 22b's arent an everyday car.

The Type UK 22Bs command a higher price as there were only 16 and three other 000 plated ones, also have Subaru Uk backing for parts which can be a bit more difficult on JDM 22Bs

Thats a good point. From reading other posts i think a wing costs about 2 grand and a front bumper about 3 grand. Who in their right mind would want to pay these prices. What does a wing and a bumper off an ordinary impreza cost. I reckon about £150 and £300. Bit of a difference.

DHorwitch that one is now mine no 49.The cost of uk cars is daft and only a handful of uk dealers can support them.I agree with the comment that these are extreme to live with but what the hell you are only here once.Had to spend alittle to get mine to the way i wnt it but it was a lot cheaper than 35K go for the JDM ones and save a fortune!!!!!!!!!

isn't the gearing different too, the import is more strained at higher speeds???

the 22B Type UK had a diferent final drive ratio making them more suited to motorway cruising, the gearbox ratios are the same as a Japanese spec 22B.

The other main diference is in the damper/spring rates, which are slightly softer.

Both are superb cars.
