I have a MY00 W-reg 5 door Turbo 56k miles 1 owner, immaculate etc.... advertised at £10,995 (and open to offers!) which I thought was a reasonable starting point based on the price guides.

But, the market seems dead at the moment. This is probably due to xmas/seasonal/economic/war/the tax man needed to be paid on 31st Jan/Subaru price reductions etc.... So the only ones that seem to be selling at present are those offered at a discount.

In answer to your question if you want to sell it straight away then try £9995. Otherwise hang on and see if the market recovers a little over the next couple of months and you might get £10995.

Dealers can't even fetch book price on Imprezas at the moment.
Value somewhere around £10,500 in cash, less if you part ex.

Surely it must be "worth" 12k or so ??

Current market aside, its a 20k car, 2 years old and mint. Surely its a bargain at 12k ??

Well. It seems my brother (who's selling the scoob) owes me £50!! I said he'd get about £11'000 if he was lucky. It is mint but after all the market determines the value.

He's advertising it for £12'750. I reckon he should advertise it for £11'500 and still have to wait a while to get anywhere near that!!

He should keep it anyway, he's a fool for selling it !!

If anybody is interested...(Reply to this post).

I can confirm its mint but with regards to cost....who knows. As I said, offer what you think its worth.

Thanks to the 2 of you that replied, appreciated.

No problem.

Just ran round to a friendly dealer who let me look into Glass's Guide for Dec 2002 and then Jan 2003, the value dropeed by £375 in one month. Might be worth bearing in mind.

Thanks. I'll pass this information on.

It sounds bad news for sellers at the moment. It has been for a long time now though. You see dealers selling X reg UK cars for 16k in some instances though!! Makes no sense.

If I was in the market for this type of motor I'd pay £11'500k for it no problem but others probably think much less.

We'll see....

i think it only really effects the selling proce the further north you go , correct me if i wrong , but when i look on autrader website i see the same spec cars cheaper up norht than the south ,

As said before the whole of the used car market seems to have taken a dive , ppl are holding onto cars longer now-a-days which has a knock on effect ,

I think best advise is try and hold on to your car till summer time maybe , i am
