Unhappy

Mods - Apologies for posting here, but need urgent help

Can anyone (Edinburgh area) who has a decent set of HT leads lying around that you are prepared to sell/lend, for an MY99 please let me know ASAP. Or if anyone knows of anywhere that is open on a Sunday who could help me out (not halfords )

Always happens at the weekend with nowhere open and no method of getting to work on Monday

Can arrange to pick up locally, I'll either pedal or limp on 3 cylinders

PS Tis SiPie of old but I'll be damned if I can remember my password and not at work

Cheers

For some reason, didn't think the local halford's would stock them.

EG. Didn't have plugs, fuel filter, wiper blades for the impreza earlier today, so thought that HT leads would be a 1,000,000 to 1 shot. Maybe the Halfords up here ain't stocked quite as well.

Are you sure as I didn't see anything that resembled them with the extra covers over the plug end etc ?

On a more serious note, do you need the ones with red covers over the plug ends (presumably to stop water splashes bein the flat 4 etc)?

I was going to buy some and they had them listed in the Halfords catalog and they had them on the shelf too.. cannot tell you if they were identical.. I am pretty sure though if you took one of your leads in (the one that presumably needs changing) and they should be able to match it to get you by.

Thanks JGM

Did a quick search earlier and it threw up opinions that peeps felt that Bosch or the other suspects were just as good a bet...

I'm just a bit concerned as the OEM leads have large rubber non-transferable thingies (I presume spray guards). Having said that.... I would think that as long as the leads fit well enough they would suffice...??? Anyone swapped and still been able to drive through puddles

I am pretty sure it was bosch ones I was looking at..

I was looking at converting an old car from coil packs to coils + 99 leads hence I know they do the leads but not idea about the thingies as I didn't know what the OEM looked like.

That was a Halfords in Derby.. seem strange if one in Scotland didn't stop the same?

Try www.halfords.co.uk for another store or maybe they list them on line?

Question

Did you sort it?

I was looking at plugs in there last night.. but at £13.49 each I decided I'd wait until I was near somewhere cheaper!!

Si-pie,

On no!

bummer...

I hope it is not too late to suggest it but no point getting the engine rebuilt get a secondhand or recon engine from grade A for example...?

Steve,

We are doing okay thanks mate..

The disks are still sat in the garage awaiting my time to do them..
although waiting for current pads to be killed fully..
I will put the new disks and a new set Mintex pads I also have in the garage on when the current pads are finished.. which cannot be long..

The garage is looking a little like a Scooby breakers at the minute with exhausts, tyres, wheels, disks and pads and other such things..

Must get around to fitting and binning some bits and pieces.

JGM
