Check the condition of the front lower spoiler, ie. not cracked and stone chip damage. Check service history careful, very very important its spot on. Find out what mods have been done if any.

Definitely no PPP for the P1 a lot had the prodrive upgrade WR sport pack which was alcons brakes and prodrive 18" wheels fitted though I think.
The plaque as such is actually a number on the VIN plate IIRC. VIN is under the bonnet top of suspension passenger side.

yes it should say Subaru Impreza P1 - 2 door saloon (looking at mine right now
also couple of things to check (not entirely comprehensive) :
rear spoiler, paint bubbling on the P1 logo, armourfend (or equivalent) on the front splitter/front bumper.
Yes, no PPP for P1 [280bhp is enough power for most] check all reciepts for servicing and any mods, check exhaust (has d/p cat+centre resonator) (if poss)
Make sure you look down the sides of the car, front to back and vice versa, make sure no body repair etc.
Let it idle alittle and make sure there is no "hunting" could be a sign of a dodge MAF,but can fixed around 70quid for new MAF sensor.
official upgraded brakes will have Prodrive logo on the caliper, standard ones have subaru logo
Oh yes, let it warm up alittle before booting it!

Always good idea to phone up the garage where its been regularly serviced. Check the mileage at each service ties in with the book. (I caught someone out when looking for my scooby who clocked the mileage ... the garage said he had it serviced at 45000 and was only showing 33000 on the clock .. Joker !!)
Ask the garage if they know the owner and also what work has been done on the car.
good luck

Its in excellent condition except for a stone chip, size of a finger nail, on the front spoiler. Its got different alloys on it, makes me wonder why. I'll definately be doing a HPI check/AA inspection.
Does anyone know where I can get a descent warranty from, if something goes wrong I don't want the bullsh!t "fair wear and tear" syndrome.
I hope its in excellent condition, but you know what people are like when it comes to description of cars
I'll keep you informed.

Kev..
Thx for the info m8

If it still has the balance of the Subaru warranty, then extending it would be a good move.
Changed wheels are just a personal thing, but the PPP worries me. There was no PPP for the P1, and the WR upgrade was just a P1 with all the extras (18" wheels, backbox, brakes, recaro seats). When you open the hood, the plate showing the P1's serial number is on the right, behing the suspension turret.

Something smells fishy. No PPP ever made for the P1. Suggests owner is BS merchant. That alone would make me walk away from that one, seriously, as you never know what other misinformation you're being fed.
