PPP queries from Singapore.....
#1
Hi,I'm from Singapore,driving MY02 GDB Sti (265ps-same as type UK). I hope to get some advise from you guys on PPP.
Presently,I'm running turbo back cat-less exhaust system (HKS Dragger) & an improved air induction system.Currently at 1.2bar,my car was dynoed at 299hp at crank & 343NM at 5837rpm.
(i)I was wondering if PPP would still be beneficial IF I retain my present cat-less exhaust set up with PPP ecu fitted?(Attempted to contact Prodrive via email but of no vail.)Has anyone tried this set-up before?Please shed some lights.
(ii)Is it true that with PPP,my factory immobiliser will have to be reset by them?
(iii)Any feedback from guys using PPP?
cheers.......

Don't you sleep !?!
I might be wrong, but I thought the PPP was only available in the UK.
Have you spoken to other Singapore owners like Ryan etc or the guys at Espace motorsport. I found them all a positive fountain of information, especially when it comes to your yearly inspection.

Sylvester,
just a quick reply, In my humble opinion, No benifits probably, Although your performance would/may be enhanced the £2000 you may find cheaper alternatives. PPP is a performance upgrade to retain our 3 year warrenty and abide to english car emissions.

1) PPP is tuned with a sports CAT fitted, so would **** your motor with no cats. Would you pay £2000 for an ECU !!!
2) No not by prodrive, but would have to be done by a dealer as otherwise the new ECU wouldn't reckonize the chip in the key
3) PPP is makes the car 305ps and 299lbs

Ryan, one of our Singapore based members, recons that with tax and certificate of entitlement it would cost around £90,000 to put a P1 on the road.
Despite that, there's no shortage of Italian and German sportscars and supercars to be seen there. They've obviously got way too much money over there

Seasons greetings;
Thanks for the prompt reply.Really appreaciate it.
To Josh L ;
U been to Singapore before?How u get to know Ryan & espace workshop?Personally,I dun quite like espace as they charge rather steep.As for Ryan,I believe his steed is Sti Ra,which is JDM unlike mine which is similar to type uk.Beside PPP,what do u think of ecuteck?
To Dark Blue Mark,wos 69;
Prices of a Sti over here cost as much as a BMW 318 (partly due to agent high mark up) at estimate to be GBP60,000.The Govt tax here is some 300% on cost of a car here plus u have to buy a piece of paper worth GBP10000+ to be allowed to drive on the roads for 10years.Pretty suck up huh?Guess it's the only way to control traffic jam.
