Ex Warrender 22B No.393/400
#5
I saw the car when i was at RC Developments a couple of weeks ago. I have to say that the price is a bit steep for an import.
Why dont you buy one directly from Japan. Its bound to be a lot cheaper and at least you will know that it hasnt been ragged around on anything lower than 100RON. In addition SUBARU japan recommends 2500 mile oil change intervals on all scoobs. All in all you will know the car has been well looked after. I can recommend a good chap who actually lives in Japan and can source the car for you.
Cheers

t888,
Sorry to butt in but mine is a Warrender import and is for sale (cheaper than both on the Warrender site ). Look in For Sale section on here or speak to TSL.
Chris.

Seejay555's car is a fine example and has been well looked after.
It had TLC from TSL service wise, and the paintwork is still A1 (not often you can say that about a Scooby!).
Saw it Saturday, drooled - nearly decided to scrap the new house idea and buy it instead - but have since been told (read: under the thumb) that this wasn't an option by the misses

I disagree with your statement Just because a cars from Japan doesnt mean its less likely to be ragged around than if it was from UK.Warrenders take their cars to be serviced at RC when they arrive in Uk and they also do tuning packages for them,so there is nothing dodgy about it.Another point is that many Jap IMports come without service history so again you are not likely to know whether the previous owner was driving like a KAMIKAZE PILOT!
22BS are not that common in Japan anyway.Only several hundred are made so its not like you just pop down to the local aution and buy five.Theyre so expensive because they are so rare, and people will pay more for one.Theres also alot of work involved SVA,Model Report(could cost about £2000 for one)etc.Warrenders are a businesss not a charity, and there still in business because they have a good reputation.

Thanks for the comments lads. I have just posted a new topic on the 22B site and I must reveb again here.......
Been toying with the idea of getting a 22B for months now. To some extent it is like an obsession. There are quite a few out there for sale a quite reasonable prices. HOWEVER...... I currently own a Type UK STi7 Prodrive with Milltek exhaust. Subaru tekkies that I have spoken to claim that it is the most complete Impreza yet (apart from the MY03 model).
So therefore, I ask myself, what real benefits can I gain from owning a 22b, apart from the obvious "in yer face" styling, it's all or nothing handling and investment value!!!!!
Help me guys - you comments most appreciated.

honestly, for this, I would ask on 22b.com and take note of the comments.
there are guys on there who have several cars at the same time, and consider the best alternative.
Chuck regularly thinks about chucking in the 22b for something else, and his reasons for not doing it yet will probably answer your question.
plus there paul garlick who is very objective. He chucked in his 22b for an S202 and hasnt looked back, but more importantly he had the choice of anything and it appears that that was the only one that managed to pip the 22b for him.

Andyng,
Read the post again mate. I said that the car will not have been ragged around on anything less than 100RON petrol. It doesnt mean that it hasnt been ragged around, it just means that proper petrol has been used while ragging it.
Service history book in japan does NOT exist unless the original owner requests it. All service records are stored in manufacturers database. A printout can be requested if a car is sold.
Regarding prices, while i was in japan, 22b prices were VERY cheap. Even if i was to import it myself it would have cost me a lot less then what dealers and some private owners want.
Cheers
