Lowered and not liking it
#1
I assume this would be why I don't see a great number of Scoobs lowered.
Mine was bought with a set of HKS springs, looks the nads but I`m finding it a bit of a struggle to enjoy driving.
Thinking of trying to get hold of a set of stock springs to take the harshness away from the ride.
Anyone experienced similar or has an opinion?

Mine was already lowered when i got it a few months ago. Dunno what type have been put on it cuz i've not even had the wheels off it yet.
I feel exactly the same way... the ride is way to solid (not to mention the tyre occasionally hitting the arch when i hit a bump with the passengers in the back). I'm thinking about going back to stock springs before i get the geometry done.

Marty get them done at the same time. I had mine done after changing to 18s from 16s but the geometry wasnt right on 16s (factory settings), and a good excuse for the geometry to be setup up properly by TSL. After the car felt so different and much better and would steer on the throttle when pushed and turned in like schummies Ferrari (not that I have driven his company car ).
The TSL setup still feels great now, on the 18s its just a touch harsh on some roads but the rock hard STI suspension and springs and 35 profile tyres I get everything I deserve . Brillant on a flat twisty and good quality road though.

Agree with ChrisP. Went from 16s to 18s, then had Eibachs and geometry done at TSL. Ride about the same as standard IMHO (which surprised me) but so little steering effort now required and stering on the throttle is a blast, which I could not do before.
The geometry set up took about two hours and is measured in minutes rather than degrees (hence the reduced steering effort). If Subaru set up each car at the factory properly rather than within tolerances, it would add to the cost of the car, so you get a compromise with the standard set up. Geometry set up is well worth the money!
