I will never forget that noise!! I had to buy ear plugs 'cause of those damn Toyotas!! But Cars doing 215 MPH (ave) laps will certainly have me going back next year!! Hopefully in Summer though.

Fizz and I were thinking of going, but didn't in the end. I saw on the news on Friday night that they weren't going to race if it was raining...
So why the hell organise such a race in late September in the UK?!?!?!?!?
You were lucky !

Maybe the people in charge will now move the race here and in Germany to an earlier summer slot. As this makes sense it probably wont happen. Rockingham must have lost a load of money on Thurs,Fri due to no running. As for the damp patches its a bit of a joke really to realise this just before the race weekend.

I was there.
I checked the web site, as soon as the first practice session finished and they said the race was go i drove down from manchester and still had an hour to spare.
The problem with the track was water seeping up through the tarmac. Typical British construction, they cant even water proof the bloody track underside. Andreti said it was the worst track for this he had ever seen.

I was there too, Turn 1 Grandstand + some corporate hospitality. Good view down the start/finish straight and the rest of the circuit. Couldn't believe that, with the right tickets you can wander around pit lane and talk to any driver or pit crew you may find. Cant imagine F1 being that 'open'
Leaving was a pain. We had a parking spot just behind Turn 4 grandstand. Took 45 mins for us to leave the car park, jumping queues. Another colleague (who left straight after the CART race, took nearly 3hours to exit the car park alone!!!!)
Enjoyable, but not sure that I would pay good money for tickets.

I was there too (pics not developed yet...). Thanks to a bit of corp hosp, I got to spend some time with one of the drivers, and he wasn't too impressed about the water seepage. Excellent day though, when things finally got moving.
And I also managed to get a couple of laps as passenger in one of the pace cars (an Acura/Honda RSX (sic), whatever that is...). Think it had the same 200bhp engine as the Civic. Up to just over a ton into turn three, I think

I could not believe how loud it was!!! I had a big head ache and there were no earplugs left I found beer helped but still... Also found it really hard to follow what was going on.... rolling start was cool though!

Bummer about getting out of the car parks...
I had to leave about 15 mins before the end of the race to get back for the babysitter - no queues at all. Sounds like I was lucky!
Still, got the last half of the race to watch on video..

Yep, the TV coverage was good (better than on Eurosport) and the racing is a bloody sight better than the mobile ad hoarding parade that passes for F1 these days. That last lap manouvre was awesome!
I mean, when James Allen or Martin Brundle start banging on about "how pit stop strategy is going to be a crucial part of this race", I just want to kick their *****. How about some bloody overtaking, late braking and actual *****-out wheel to wheel RACING being a crucial part???
Rant over.

What a fun day out (appart from the 2 hour queue into the circuit and 1 1/2 hour queue out of the circuit! )
Cars were very impressive, and almost scary the first time we saw them at full chat from the Turn 1 grandstand! Some good racing as well. The pit stops were amazing - as much of a race there as out on the track! I was supprised to see how hard the leaders had to work to lap slower cars - none of the namby pamby waving of blue flags as in F1.
Was amazed to see a car go the entire length of the start straight with all wheels locked - backwards! And he didn't hit anything!!
cool.
