Neanderthal,
No I don't think it is, there is a topic that has loads of messages on there, and that's just as fast.
Gridlock Mikey,
Don't think it's common knowledge yet mate. Oh dear have you let the cat out of the bag ??
Cheers Phill C

DOH!!!
I hope I haven't let anything outta da bag. Come to think of it, there was a public message displayed whilst Scoobynet was down for repairs, inviting people to use the new site, so therefore, it must be public knowledge. Also, there are plenty of posts on it so loads of people know about it anyway.
Phew, thought i'd F**ked summat big up then

I think that it's so fast because it's got nobody using it yet - the size of the threads will have only a little effect on the overall speed, loads of users requesting lots of pages will have a significant impact.
It'll be loads faster than the current BBS though when it does go live due to the technical differences between the two....

Thanks guys
It will almost certainly slow down a bit when we all start hammering it.. but there is a chance it won't.
Lee Christie has kindly been offering his help in small tweaks to the database parameters so we can get most of the database running straight from memory which may mean it will actually be faster than it is now!! difficult to be sure until we run it live.
All the best
Simon

But When
Will the fact that the pages are ASP mean thet f***ing freeserve caches will allow me to see my own posts at home within an hour after posting them or are they set to cache dynamic as well as static content long after it should have been refreshed. <Angry Smiley that I can't do> !
