In your car with a switch so that one is nice and sedate and meets all the emmision laws, and you can drive long distances in comfort, and the other snarls and spits fire and does not meet all the emmision laws but is fast as fooook. Or am I being abit ambitious here??

Speak to APR, they do this all the time on VAG units, with one ECU but multiple "modes" within it, switched by the cruise control stalk.
Not sure if they've ever done anything for scoobies, but they may attempt it for the right money \ numbers?

Doh, I was seen as a mad man for asking the same question in drivetrain a few months ago
I wanted 3 switchable maps - fast road, race and economy/service.
The answer I got back was "use the excelerator to do this", which is correct of course......

IIRC you can have two maps in a Link ECU. I'm surprised more people don't make something of this feature -- after all late-model TVR Cerberas have a 95/98 octane button.
With two maps, you could run a car (prob. not a Scoob) on LPG with a fuel map optimized for it (none of that 80-90% efficiency crap) and then switch to a 95/98 octane map when using petrol.

What year car... Can be done on pre96.. unsure about the 97-98 and dont think so on next gen.
Could be done using a dawes and boost solenoids though, may not pass emmissions.

Yep alot of the high end BM's i.e. the new M3 have a sport mode button which amongst other things switches to a sportier map on the ECU. I also thought a lot of the high end re-mappble ECU's supported the ability to have switchable maps. You may also be able to get a similiar effect with an electronic boost controller and fuel controller like the HKS series.
I know a few people who use such devices snd basically run 3 different settings. One on low boost with low fuel settings, one on normal boost and one for high boost settings for maximum power which can all be switched over at the touch of a button.
