Second hand car buyer checks? HPI any others?

Hi I have seen a car (second hand) and want to do the necessary checks.
Can any one advice me on which ones to have done and the costs please. HPI is the one for out standing finance on the vehicle (so its not reposed) Is there one for accident damage and as it a Japanese import is there one for stolen abroad (as shown C4)?
Any phone numbers would really help please.

I thought the HPi check also told you if the car was listed.
I think somebody posted a link to a website which you could use to check an imports vin number to see if it was reported stolen in Japan. Do a search, it was about 10 days ago or so.
This is probably not much help but I thought i'd share it anyway.

Done the HPI check, no out standing finance or crashes, I really need this Stolen from Japan web sight if anyone can help.
Did a search (took 8 minutes) uncovered nothing.
