Maybe I'm getting a bit too long in the tooth but am I the only one who thinks that Scoobynet is evolving into 'Max Scooby Power'.
Every other post seems to be "I raced a xxxx yesterday" and even the contents of serious threads degrade into testosterone fuelled slanging matches or "you should have given him a fecking good smacking" type advice.
Could I request a new forum please moderators ? .... the "Am I faster, harder and cooler then you ?" forum.
People could then post treads challenging others to verbal slanging matches, offers of regional meets for dealing out good kickings, gaining feedback from the like minded of their best street racing experiences and even spot deliberate seplling mistakes arguments.
What do you think ?
Ian.
P.S I'm only available to meet up for a good kicking on Tuesdays.

Here here
But it was inevitable due to the prices dropping into the max muppet range your average 18something can now buy a scoob and with it brings the immature posts regarding street racing and my cars quicker than yours threads. Talk that was once the bastion of pub culture is now available to a captive audience of millions via the internet.

I totally agree.
I for one am totally f**king sick of reading these pathetic threads that go on about 'your thread is more sh*te than my thread' and 'you are so much thicker than me'. Why can't these morons grow up and realise that no-one gives a toss about how long, ignorant, badly spelled or quick off the lights their thread is? It only encourages them after all.
Anyway, can't hang about here all day, I've got to go and drive up and down the high street with my sub woofer maxed out, trying to incite the local teenagers on mopeds to give me a proper race.
Charlie.

My Dad is bigger than your Dad?
Have to agree, but Scoobynet is cyclic. Give it a few weeks and we'll be back to "Hijack attempt", or "Post here if your STI is the wrong shade of taupe"

I agree that some of these threads have been getting a little out of hand of late but there are very few 18 somethings on SN!! Just look in the general forum of saxosportsclub.co.uk and you'll see that we actually have a very well moderated and mature bbs here.
Besides, if someone played with an M3 and got roasted by it then I personally would quite like to hear their experiences. We're fans of performance cars are we not. I just don't like some of the angles people come from. For example the following both tell the same story:
"Fooking wasted an Mfree man!! We both nailed it from a roundabout up to 110mph and he was falling miles behind. Glanced over at the next roundabout and he was gutted man, wished he'd never messed with the scooby. That'll teach"
Or
"Had a cracking wee play with an M3 the other night. Came round a dualled roundabout and had the road to ourselves to punched it up to *cough* 110mph before backing off - I'd put about 2 car lengths on him. I glanced over at the next roundabout and we both waved and smiled. I think he was quite impressed that my scooby did so well "
See, same story - different angle

Was bound to happen over time.
Any old pleb can now afford a scoob now - even me!
Suggest we try raising the tone by starting a few 'grown-up' type threads.
How about a thread on performing donuts with a Zimmer frame?
Mak.

I agree that cheap imports from 1993 upwards is starting to flood the market and so making the car more accessible to Max Power boys ( Kenny ?!!! ) and hence no more waves from others not "in the know" too.
Shame that the topics have become diluted with the Mine and Yours type talk, but maybe I'm getting old too (managed 5 donuts in the zimmer before toppling over)
I have to say though that there is still a wealth of information and informed people here whom I regularly tap when modding, so it's not all lost.

Looks like the scoob will have to suffer the same problems that us cossie lot went through and still suffer from.....
Once the kids get their hands on em, and start raggin em up and down the high street, it's game over.....
... cue tarnished reputation... although I think the scoob will hold up better, due to pedigree, and constantly revamped models...

As been said before (in the last 34 times this topic popped up)... isn't it a bit silly to assume that people with less money are automatically braindead/total BBS morons ?
Think about it.

it has to be said same old sh+@£ day in day out but i wouldnt worry about it. Its a very popular BBS - many on here have not got driving licences never mind subarus.
But think yourselves lucky - I only really go on one other Car BBS which is the VW GTI forum - now have a little read of that - 1000`s of owners desperately seeking answers to why there 1989 8 valve has idle stabiliser problems!!!!
im one of them

The same was said about the muppet forum, as there has been an invasion, or so it would seem, of, well, those with less than what I'd call a tasteful sense of humor.
Some have said it's evolution of the bbs, but I'd say it's more live de-evolution.
I still come on here, but not as often as I used to, but then again, work is busy, so I don't have the time.
I still consider this to be one of, if not *the* best bbs I view and use.
