I've raced a MY03 !!

On Saturday afternoon on the A40 leaving London on the elevated part I raced a MY03 impreza ( white ).
I had REAL trouble keeping up :
a - because we were in central london and at 110MPH weaving through traffic ( very dangerous and very stupid )
b - I did'nt know where the speed cameras were.
c - did'nt expect to have to make an effort to keep up ( so he got a good headstart ) I did'nt know what it was until we hit traffic later on, but all I knew was that it was a subaru, but could'nt work out what the heck it was.
I've got a STi 6 type ra + exhaust + dump valve, so was no slouch.
I did'nt know what I was racing until today when I've looked at the new MY03 pics.
The one I raced was'nt a sti as it was realy plain but did have the writing / logo in the corner of the grill.
So I'm confused as to what the hell it was !!!!
any ideas anyone ?

I thought it was a new version of the SVX at the time,
as it was a 4 door and looked relatively large.
but have since looked at the piccies of new SVXs and it was'nt

which although look bizarre, still look like imprezas underneath.
