Does anybody know where this is?

Internet search revealed RAF Bentwater in Suffolk, but no mention of a track.

Cheers

Can I blag a passenger ride in the Ultima? I'm out in the novices session so I don't think I'll be sharing track time with you.

Whose is the Ultima? I'm just finishing off the build of my GTR, and will be taking it to Wroughton on 29th September weather permitting. In the wet it has a great 'Automatic Drive Sideways' feature.

Cool

The Ultima is in full race trim and is run by a mate of mine. It's packing a 4.9L Rover V8 pushing out about 330bhp (but about the same in ft/lbs of torque!).

I'm sure if you offer him enough beer he'll give you a ride. Don't expect comfort though!!!

Paul - I'd be interested in your opinions on the build of the GTR. I almost ordered one at the Stoneleigh Kit Car show but had a workshop full of racecar at the time. Nearing the season end and need something to keep me occupied in the winter months.

pfff. Chevrolet V8 bored and stroked to 383ci (that's 6.3 litres to you and me), bench dyno at the engine builder gave 541bhp @ 5900
and 532 ftlbs @ 4500.

In the dry it will spin its 335/30-18 rear tyres in any of the first three gears.

I'm looking forward to taking it to a subaru rolling road day, except that it doesn't have a boot for people to sit in to a aid traction! Besides which I'll probably be embarrased and find that the dyno plot from my engine builder was a complete fabrication

If you want to know more about the build, e-mail me off line.

I will be there too

the track's great fun ... and they're making a lot of improvements to it.

but won't be driving my Scoob on track

PS the place can be a bu55er to find as it's in the middle of nowhere but it's where the old USAF airbase used to be near Woodbridge.

Thanks for the replies boys & girls. It is a tad far from Leeds though and a pig to get to from anywhere (except Ipswich )
