Hi

I bought some clear front indicators from Scoobymania for my MY94 a fair while back (at least 6 months) and my driver's side one is now taking in water.....

There is a little hose on the unit which I was very careful to ensure that it was and remained attached but the reflector around the bulb area is rusting

When the water got in, it took the orange paint off of the bulb and despite emptying the unit and trying to clean it with washing-up liquid, has left me with a very unsightly orange "tide mark" halfway up the indicator.
The whole lens is now stained with orange paint.

I've sent Scoobymania two e-mails now (first one on Saturday, one last night) and have had no response....

Has anyone else suffered from this or do you have any tips on cleaning them up ? - as I said, it looks a right mess!

Thanks

Gavin

Gavin,

If it's the older design of clear indicator - the one with the frosted glass. These were replaced with a newer style with a clear glass.
They were redesigned by the manufacturer because they leaked.

David,

Thanks for that - I wasn't aware that there was history behind this.

Still no response from Scoobymania...

Thanks

We've lost some mail recently, (Lee Christie knows the technical reason behind it, I don't).

However, I saw your mail (Gavin) only today. It would have been much simpler and no doubt resolved much quicker if you had just picked up the phone (and dialled our number of course)?

Send me the faulty units back Gavin and I'll sort you out a full refund.

As for the design being changed due to leakage problems that is simply untrue?

Gavin's is the first single item (and we've sold hundreds over the last 2 years) that I've heard of leaking?

The design was changed for cosmetic and TUV approval reasons as far as I'm aware?

Steven, no discounts I'm afraid, I think you'll find they are pretty competitive already.

STi clear tail light clusters are £192.94 per pair.

Mike,

Thank-you for the response and I will return them to you.

I can appreciate having e-mail problems but I would have expected a reply to my message when you received it or when you saw this thread ? No e-mail has been sent to me at all....

I don't enjoy airing grievances in public and the other items and enquiries I have made to Scoobymania in the past have been responded to fairly promptly, so I'm sure this is probably an isolated incident.

Thanks

Gavin

Cheers Mike,

When you say they're STi clusters does that mean they're STi style and will fit my MY98, or that they're for an STi only?

Cheers,
Steve.
