They'd be phase II engines so quoted 215 (bhp or ps - not 100% sure which).

Although some rolling roads give higher numbers.

depends on if it has had prodrive option packs or not, but norm output would be around 218bhp. prodrives put out around 240

Upto and including MY98 all UK scoobs were 208bhp from MY99 and upto present day MY02 they are 215bhp.

The PPP adds about 25-35bhp.

Except P1 and 22B Type Uk, STI7 of course

See the front page on here for dyno plots

The general consensus is that the 99MY ECU AE800 was 'better' than the 00MY ECU AE802. I'm no tuner and as mentioned, the rolling road figures are variable, but 225Bhp could be normal for a 99MY

The quoted 215bhp (218ps?) is concervative. My 99my when standard, gave 215bhp at around 5300 but also went on to 242bhp at 6480

208bhp is standard on an MY98 maybe a couple more bhp for the BB but the STI BB is still very restrictive

Its 208bhp and 215bhp

The 218 is a PS figure which is 215bhp

218PS = 215bhp

The MY99 had the phase 2 engine which went from phase 1 - 208bhp to phase 2 - 215bhp

MY94 UK to MY98 UK phase one engine 208bhp

MY99 UK onwards phase 2 engine 215bhp

Cheers

Chris

Late Phase I engines (my97/98) had 211hp.

That 3hp makes all the difference. For the record, my MY98 made 242bhp on PE's rolling road - I quote this because it sounds better in the pub.

Thumbs up

Scooby-si is right if a little enthusiastic Most MY99/00's push out 225bhp as standard not 215bhp, and if youre lucky anywhere up to 230-232bhp. Mine is standard bar magnex backbox n is kickin out 227bhp, and thats with a dodgy MAF that needs replacin tomorrow

Exclamation

UK cars up to 97 had 208bhp and 201lbsft and a TD05 (big) turbo

At 97 the turbo changed for a smaller TD04 but the inlet was altered to front entry instead of 90 degree, so the air filter pipe runs round the front of the engine rather than round the back.
97 onwards cars also had a bigger intercooler and ran a smidge more boost standard. The piston design was changed (low friction) and compression ratio raised. The ECU was also revised.

Hence 97-98 cars had 208bhp and 214lbsft and the torque peaked lower down the rev range

In 99 the phase 2 engine was intorduced and modifications were made to the head.

Power rose to 215bhp and torque was the same at 214lbsft.

Thank you and goodnight.

Official figures were tosh AFAIC for MY00's. MY99's were better but a std MY00 was reported to have put out 201bhp on a RR.

235bhp, my @rse
