Are your MY01 tyres wearing quickly?
#1
I've done 5000 miles in my MY01 WRX so far. Looking at the treads, I estimate I've only got about 3000 left before they're scrappers.
They are the Bridgestone Potenzas.
Have other my01 owners found their tires wear quickly? My right foot hasn't been (that) heavy!
What are a good replacement? something that lasts quite a lot longer but still grips pretty well...

They run a MY01 as a staff car in Evo magazine. It was commented upon that the tyres wore out far too quickly and uneven as well. it was suggested that the geometary was out.
Is your wear even? if not get the Garage to give the car a check.

I had much greater wear on the inside edges after 7500, lots of tread elsewhere tho. Just had tracking done by dealer but will have to see if that's cured it. In theory tho should have another 7500 left. Don't often get the opportunity to really hammer it.

front tyres are showing signs of wear (5000 miles) - but I would expect that in a MY01 wrx wagon because fronts always have a real strain on a 4wd car that heavy.
the inside edges are wearing down the most. I'll have to mount a dvcam somewhere safe and try out some curves to see how that tyre moves.

What Bridgestone Potenzas are they?
Apparently most Subarus have pole positions?
I have got Re720's on my MY98 wagon. They wear down pretty quick, but I have to say the grip is excellent. I'm not sure if the PP's are better or not.
Apparently a lot of people put Pirelli Pzeros on. Why not give Subaru technical a ring.

Already made ref but EVO mag comments on geometry.
When I was getting the SS system fitted at ABP in Cheshire the guy there said it will be interesting to do a geometry check on this as they all (MY00) seem to come out of the factory with off side front an rear out. Checked it and they were out. Car was 1 month old.
