IM will be sending out parts to dealers in Aug (end of Aug according to them yesterday)
they will first deal with the 45+ people on their priority list then whichever dealers need it.
pay a deposit, hassle dealer and you get on the list.

My neighbour collected his UK300 yesterday complete with Performance Pack. It sounds great. He had a lot of grief to get it fitted. He even threatened to cancel the order for the car and in the end they somehow managed to get it done !
I'm still not convinced on the rear spoilers looks yet !

I was told by me dealer that it is no different to a de-catted car with full SS system. As I have the latter, my dealer kindly offered me a go in there PPP'd demo and behold, they are right.
Personal choices but I'm glad I spent the money with Mr Croney as he had the foresight to have performance upgrades available shortly after the car was released!! Now, what a cunning plan that was.

I am glad you are pleased with your choice but I think you could be damaging your chance of any warrenty claim you may have in the future with respect to your engine.
I am not sure of the ultimate result here but I would expect a ppp re-mapped car to have more chance of making use of a free flow exhaust system, but time will tell....!

My Choice for PPP has no reflection on Scoobysport
Given the choice it would be Pete's place everytime
Unfortunatly my car is a company vehicle and I am not allowed to do anything that might compromise the warranty
I am in no doubt of the quality or performance or value of Scoobysport products
So IM get a move on with PPP so I can keep up with all these Scoobysport Moded MY01

Totally agree phil, having personally blown up an Sti the warranty is a key issue for me.
Scoobysport/Pete offer quality and service and I am certainly not here to knock them.
The length of time we have all been kept waiting for the ppp is beginning to take the p*ss, IMHO.

I have ordered my PPP and was considering getting the SS downpipe fitted to complement the whole set-up, however, I have heard that Mike Wood has said that a PPP'd car with a full SS system would blow up!
Has anyone got any idea why? I was guessing that the PPP exhaust and SS exhaust are 'similar' in construction etc (excluding the downpipe of course) and that the PPP does not inlude the downpipe only because that's where the cat is?
Darren,
MY01

Darren, unlike Sti's, P1's etc, the standard car doesn't have the strong internal parts needed . The car is built to withstand a certain amount of power gain probably 250ish, but with the PPP and Downpipe etc, the power would probably be 260-265 bhp, which the engine or powertrain wouldn't stand. Thus resulting in a big bang. Good while it lasts I suppose.

we got our info on the ppp yesterday . you get a new centre section of exhaust ,ecu , corner intake pipe , and a new restrictor for the turbo , and back box (i think)

We have fitted a downpipe to a PPP'd 01 and done some testing.
We tested the car using 97 RON and the ambient temp was 29degC.
We couldn't measure boost, as the ECU now reads a false boost figure (9-10psi on full boost).
Reading knock retardation, this is typically between 7 and 9.5 degrees pre downpipe (and also with our full system and no PPP). With PPP and downpipe, the retardation is 8-10 degrees, but we saw 1 spike that went to 11.5 degrees. The limit of what the ECU can cope with is 12 degrees. This was too close for my comfort, but the owner asked for it to be left on, with more readings taken next week. He has rung several times and has covered a lot of miles, at pace, in the interests of science
I would expect using 95 RON with this set up, and driving on full boost, would cause engine failure and am not happy that they two products should be used together for the WRX01.
Needless to say, the car is blisteringly quick.
We have recently developed a replacement up pipe, which does away with the manifold cat. This makes an incredible difference to performance and I look forward to getting some RR figures for it.

Hi Chins!
Was yours a dealer fit? or did they take it up to prodrive, if not which dealer (If I remember correctly your car was from Adams?)
I presume this is a UK300..... us "standard" plebs will have to go on waiting........and waiting.....and waiting.....zzzzzzzzzz
Thanks for the info.

What would happen if you did not change the backbox, just the downpipe (or up pipe as Pete now calls it )?
(Thinks - I REALLY hope I'm not being a muppet on this one, the last time was a bit too close for comfort)
The reason I ask is because one of my pet hates is turbo lag, and I gather that changing the downpipe is the best way to counter this. I would also be interested in the smoother delivery of the PPP. The backbox seems to be as much about sound as free-flow.
I realise that Pete supplies the downpipe and Prodrive supply the PPP, so the two aren't available in the same package, but still, it's the idea that counts!
Pete, MikeWood - comments on such a combination?

All that sun is getting to you m8
Seriously though, the "up pipe" that Pete is referring to is between the cast exhaust manifold ("headers" to those in the USA) and the turbo. Given that this contains a catalyst in the MY01, it is contributing to the delay in the turbo. Hence why Pete has removed it.
On a different tack, if Pete has removed all three cats (up pipe, down pipe, and centre pipe), is the car legal or would it fail an emmissions test? My concern is that my (standard) VW recently failed a roadside test, and I was lucky to avoid a fine and points.

back to the top - eager for daily news on progress. Anyone got anymore.
Pete C any more news from your customer with the best of both worlds? Is he/she on here -care to report findings.
Anymore info on the teaser you left us with; working on an up-pipe that makes an "incredible" difference. Sorry, I know you are prob. v. busy but you know how impatient we all are here.
