Which will arrive first - Scoobynews CD or new baby...?!!

Perhaps you need to take a puncture repair kit with you. Here's the procedure...
Take the wheel off. Brick up side of Push Chair. Get a couple of tyre levers to un-rim one side of the tyre. Pull out part of the tube. Find convenient stream or bowl of water to look for the leak. Failing that, listen really carefully all along the tube for fffffff noise. Use saliva to confirm hole location. Apply patch with lovely smelling glue. Wait half hour for glue to dry. Get headache from glue fumes. Spend another half hour trying to get tube and rim back on the wheel with tyre levers. Look for wheel bolt, which has now been lost due to above. Find bolt. Re-fit wheel.
Job Done.
I used to go cycling a lot as a youngster..

On a slightly more serious note ( )
Back packs are good too
When sprog first arrives, you want a front mounter just so as you can gaze at him/her, but once head holding is OK & they want to know what's going on, then a framed rucksack type device is the one They love it & its convenient for that off-road excursion

Nimbus,
That made me laugh... . I might get some slicks for track day use as well.
Puff - re back packs - we're getting a 'Wilkinet' sling, which lets you carry in practically any position you can think of (and I can think of quite a few). Although these Babybjorn things also seem quite popular, too?

OK, in a few months time maybe we should set up a baby buggy racing grand prix? Maybe SDB can set up a small course when/if the Scoobynet RallyX is orgonised..?
Re-backpacks / slings.
We are thinking of this as well, and I like the idea of the one you can use for a long time and they won't grow out of after three months. Do you know any stockists/websites?
Cheers
Moray, I used "Scoobynet" in this post, so can it stay in the General forum..?

Well, exactly one month until the ETA of our first (and probably last ) baby. Just wondering whether it's arrival will be before the Scoobynew CD (I know Simon, you have been very busy with the World Record (well done BTW ), so not *really* a dig.... well, just a little one....).
Looking back through the posts of the last 6-12 months, seems like there are a lot of new dads out there. If all goes well there will be one more in about a months time.

Puff,
Not that kind of baby
Andrew,
Congrats... I'm suffering from information overload at the moment. Been to NCT, Ante-natal, got tons of books and leaflets on the subject.
Pick up cot/bed, "Travel System" and monitor on Sunday. At last, some gadgets to play with..

Nimbus,
We did the NCT two day 'intensive' course (sounds like a driving test), which I thought was very good, but still got some more stuff to get. We live in the woods (in a manner of speaking) so we got one of those off road push chair jobbies - can't wait for a test drive...

At the risk of turning this into a "prospective dads" thread
Andrew,
When we test drove our travel system, they had a really groovy off-road pushchair thing in the shop. Big pneumatic tyers and a really clever steering system. Basically, the front and rear wheels were on a kind of connected castor system, so when you turned the from wheels to go left, the rear wheels turned right, so it could turn tighter!! Unfortunatly it was not speed sensative, so that it also did this at high speed and became a bit dangerous
I liked the look of the ones with the off-road tyers, but they were all a bit big and heavy, so not really suitable for us. Apparently you also get a tyre pump with them. I can imagine getting stuck on the pavement on the way from a walk with a flat tyer and having to call out the AA I don't think they come with a spare.

Perhaps we should have a new forum "New Dads" ? I'm sure there would be lots of advice etc to be discussed; Which car seat looks the best in a scoob, Best dealer to carry out bump-steer mod for a pushchair, 3, 4, or 5 inch wheels, do gold wheels look good on a push chair (only if it's WRC blue ). The list is endless.... Maybe it should be called "Coffee Morning" forum

Nimbus, I can just see it now
In lane one, weighing in at 7lb, sitting comfortably in an offroader mamas and papas, sporting rear spoiler and lowered suspension........
In lane two, about to puke, in a silver cross 3 in one.
I could go on,
Mark

What worries me is that although a three-wheel pushchair is perfectly acceptable (perhaps even trendy), a three wheeled car (classic Morgan three-wheelers excepted) is the absolute height of naffness....
Surely some mistake?
