Get it bought or i'll come over there and slap you if you dont!!
Evo 6 in silver....MINT
must say though if it is a Makinen it has to be cherry red with the Group N decal kit....OH YES
I would definatly trade any Subaru for an evo without hesitation.

Stelio,
Bring it around here and I'll tell you if you should buy it, after I take it for a road test. If you think the car is good buy it. I'll still be your pal. Plus I've always wanted to jump in one and see what they're like. I may consider an EVO in the future also, depending on what Subaru do with their newer models. Cruising together will be interesting too. One thing I'd miss is the boxer engine sound though.

Wrxy pal i have the sneaking suspicion than the STi 7 must be tops as the suspension/6 gearbox horses etc must be ideal for greek roads (ie no roads!)Ill wait 4 that one which in any case combined with the fact that evo 7 is chearer than the 6 will also bring the 2ndhand prices of evos down! So either new STi7 or cheap evo 6 is what am thinking.

I wouldn't complain with an STI 7. I haven't been in one of those either, so it would still be interesting, as an STI is also a car I woud consider in the future. I'll still be your pal.
When are you coming over anyway?

If you can afford to run one, then definately get it.
Just remember they cost shed loads more to run than scooby's (well standard one's anyway)
service twice as much, more insurance and u have to buy a tracker to get insured!
I soooooooooooo nearly bought a blue demonstrator but I had my old sensible head on. Plus the missus would have killed me.

Medders pal,
Its Greece over 'ere no insurance rating 4 faster cars no mods invalidating the policy etc so insurance not an issue. My worry is that my (call me blasphemous) the power of the thing was (felt) on a par with me WR/PPP MY00 wagon (no other mods). I ll persuade the guy to loan me the evo for a day so i can do some twisties. Note that the evo was a scoob owner and he says that the evo is not THAT better (meaning the extra dosh) than his previous scoob MY98 and he is eager to sell it rather than tune it for the xtra hp.
WREXY c ya at the SUBARU service pireos m8 this week .Try to come down with the evo so i will have something to tell u about the handling fm Korinthos-Epidavros (used to be tarmac ss for the Acropolis in the days when men drove real cars aka Vatanen/Pegeuot 205 T16)

Stelios, After driving the Mak, I (and this is my opinion before I get flamed) felt that the performance was in a different league to an impreza. I was taken for a ride with a mechanic who'd been on a Ralliart course of some kind, and clearly knew what he was doing. The Makkinen is lower geared (I think) so is manic.
0 - 100 in 11.5 as well .....
I want one again now!

Medders i hate all flames except those coming from my exhaust!
EVO mags figures
Evo 6 TM 0-60 :4.8 0-100 :13.5
Impr rb5 pd (seems similsr to mine) 0-60: 5.0
0-100 :14.1
So not much in it so that explains the "i am not impressed" statement. Its that I was sooo looking forward to the evo as the next level scoob tht i was a bit dissapointed... Hope Ill change impressions once i drive it through bends.

there has been much discussion recently about Evo's figures.
Everyone else seems to quote different figures (and all agree with each other)
I'm on my 3rd impreza and the Mak felt a lot faster than my turbo's (1 ppp'd) and more manic than my P1 down low, although the P1 makes up for this higher up the range.
After all is said though, I bought the P1 and I love it. How fast can you go on the road?
You're obviously not convinced (as I wasn't in the end)
As I said initially, if money is no object get the MAK. It IS better (even if it is only 0.5 sec to 100 - it's still better)
If you don't have 8k burning a hole in your pocket (as I didn't) don't bother.

Firstly, can I say that things like 0-60 or 0-100 are totally irrelevant as they are not real world measurements. Although the cars may do those times with almost identical results, the way they do it is totally different. Never base a purchase of a car based on its 0-60 time.
Secondly, the Evo 6 Mak (and all other 6's) are a TOTALLY different car when the exhaust has been changed. It changes so many elements of the Evo that you'd be suprised it were the same car. Noise, torque, power...everything is increased substantially, so check to see that the car you drove had an aftermarket exhaust.
In terms of performance, there really is very little to choose between an STI and a Mak, but there is a huge difference in the way they do it.
