2. Can you guys recommend some good Scooby sites for me to check out online? I havent seen too many. Thanks...peace.

By "real" I'm guessing you mean either old shape or new shape Japanese spec with more power.
Subaru USA imported 1 (one) 22b in a special scheme which allowed them to have one for demonstration purposes. I believe it will have to be crushed after a certain period of time, which is absolutely tragic!
The emissions is the killer. Many have looked into this, and I believe they have failed.
Rsquire will hopefully pop along to the thread. He's in the States and his 22b is being looked after in the UK.

Well in that case, is there a way to upgrade the American IScooby to close to the WRX specs via turbo upgrade etc? I am not aware of what is available for aftermarket support here in the US for the Scooby. Our new WRX is cool, but I like the old body style better.

Boschy, Rip out the catalytic converters, replace with a downpipe, from Scoobysport/MRT/Falkland Performance/BPM/Whoever. Replace standard exaust system, with one from above. Replace air filter with either induction kit or ITG/K+N air filter. Fit a Dump valve if you want flames out of the exaust and big pppssshhhtttt noises . Replace standard ECU with your choice of Link/Motec/Pectel (Link would do the job fine)
Sould see you around the 280 bhp mark
Get some new suspension (see Pete Croney's car at ScoobySport)
should be some advice on what is available locally to you on
