The 90-94 UK legacy turbo has 197hp 193ftlb standard, Jap car has 240hp. Next gen turbo is import only, GT is 260hp twin turbo, GTB is 280hp (auto is only 260).

Engine is almost like impreza. You can fit brakes, suspension, gearbox, diffs, seats, engines and more from impreza into Legacy.

I have a 90-94 estate, picked up for 3850 a while ago. The aircon on uk cars was optional, Jap car has climate as standard.

UK car 0-60 is 6.7, 1/4 mile in 15.3. The older, single turbos are more tunable than the twin turbos, and with a decat exhaust just as driveable, but without the valley of death (drop in boost between turbos spooling up) of the twin turbo.

Most jap cars are autos, UKs tend to be manuals.

Expect to pay:

£3000 for a high miler UK 92 without aircon
£3800 for a mint UK 94 with aircon and low miles (for year).
£4250 for Jap import 90-94 with climate etc
£6000 for Jap 95 GT twin turbo
£8000 for 97 GTB twin turbo
£10000 for 99 B4 twin turbo

I have a UK 94 Estate, and am very happy with it.

those figures are for turbo cars.

UK legacy saloon is 1380kg I think, and 197hp. It has 2 cats in the zort. Fit a mongoose exhuast system for about £500, get a fuel cut defender (FCD) and a Dawes Device for about £100 and you will have about 260hp.

Brakes are crap though, but fine for off road (low grip).

Probably pick up a tatty one for about £2400.

Cool

I've got a 93 single turbo, with a de-cat stainless exhaust, MY01 Impreza 4 pots, STiV Rear anti-roll bar with uprated drop-links and MY00 16x7 rims. It is quicker than a std Bugeye and not far off UK spec Classic. Bargain. Just need some chairs now.
