Positive Post Dono Note - Newbies!
#1
Obviously we've all been scouring the threads post Dono & whilst theres been a lot of good stuff, prehaps the taste has been a little soured
However, I have noticed quite a few "newbies" appear on Scoobynet, people that were obviously there in some guise or other, who have found out about the on-line scooby community
Most encouraging are the track virgins (no more ) who hopefully have been bitten by the bug
Therefore would like to take the opportunity to welcome all the "newbies" & hope that you'll soon become regulars
Just don't go near the Muppet Forum

Watched some scoobs, skylines etc flying around Donno on Sunday and I reckon I'd like a go sometime soon.
What's the best way for a newbie to get into this track day thing?
Pro instruction?
Be driven round by those who know?
Just have a go?
What was the going rate for insurance @ Donno?

A good starting point for newer trackers (new word?) has to be Bedford Autodrome.
Flat & loads of run off. Not quite a hairy as Dono for a first time out
Keep an eye out in track days for the next event.

Thanks for the welcome and encouragement Magic Wagon
It was getting a bit "frantic" in the other thread. Might see you at a track somewhere sometime.

dono is a very safe track which is excellent for newbies, the staff there are very good.
I hope some of you venture out to places like Cadwell Park and Oulton Park, those are more on the lines of traditional UK circuits being much narrower and have less run off. They are fantastic tracks though, very challenging and very rewarding.

You're correct about Cadwell being a bike track, and it is "relatively" narrow. Best thing is it hasn't got any pretensions about being an F1 track, so hasn't been spoiled like certain tracks.
