Haggling for my first Impreza
Hi guys,
I've loved Imprezas since I was 10 and am finally in a position to get one. I've found one that fits the bill, but the owner is playing hardball on the price. I'm happy to pay what it's worth, I'm just not 100% sure what that is and I really don't want to overpay too much.
I think he'll let it go for 11500. Is that too much? Car is as follows:
I really appreciate any input on this, but please don't try to convince me to change to a JDM or a WRX or something. I know that I want an unmodified widetrack blobeye STI UK. I'd prefer blue/gold but there's not much unmodified stuff out there that's not asking silly prices. It's basically this car, or a long wait. And I'm impatient/excited so it's this car 😆

I think he'll let it go for 11500. Is that too much? Car is as follows:
- 2005 Blobeye STI type UK widetrack
- 87000 miles
- Black with grey wheels
- Unmodified except for the exhaust
- Part service history (all 10k mile services stamped)
- No worrying rust on arches or sills (undersealed though so hard to be sure)
- Cam belt is overdue and 90k service is looming. Just under 1k to do both at Slowboy racing, which I'll do asap.
- Wheels are all curbed and tyres all need changing soon

Thank you for your advice guys. I'm now the proud new owner! I've had it for a couple of days and it seems like a really solid car for the age. Certainly better than the others I drove. (As a side note it's also the most incredible machine that I've ever seen/driven/been near and I can't believe that I finally own an Impreza 😁😁😁

Just look on rear sills ,take off plastic bit at the end if there is a rust run away.

Thank you mate! I got it for 11500. I've not found a single problem with it yet (apart from the expected clunky shocks) and I'm loving Impreza ownership so far.
