Default In car camera

So as I've stressed many times that I don't trust garages, latest happened when misses took her car in for CV joint needing doing and after a few days the front struts started knocking, now this could just be they were on the way out and that the front end was jacked up this put strain on the struts and finished them off.

But it does make you wonder, specially when I took my project car for an mot and found out it had been taken for a spin around the block after failing. As I have no proof I can't say anything as they will just deny it.

So here's my question about having an in car camera fitted. Would love something that hooked up to my phone aswell, something I could fit myself maybe? Without costing insane money? Just wondered if anyone else has thought about this or even fitted something like?

I agree with you, incoured a bump and a scrape after my engine tuner debacle, plus loads of crushed fins on my grimm speed top mount.....

Oh nearly forgot they also buzzed my new Paul finch built motor bending 16 valves, cheers Alan and Martyn.

My friend had a tuned skoda , took it to the main dealer for a service , it had a hidden camera which logged other bits of data , taken for a test drive , was hitting around 130 mph , both mechanics lost their jobs plus police got involved , i don’t like leaving a car any where , engines being revved hard when cold and test drives ☹️

That's crazy, when it happened at scoobyclinc nothing happened. Did he get any money back? What camera system was he using? Gota get something fitted, my cars need body work doing and need take it for spraying, so will have to be left there.

There was a refund and compensation , the police side I don’t fully know , but as far as I’m aware all went to court as they had basically had stolen it as they were asked to service it not joy ride it , camera I don’t know , it was hard wired in as they thought they had disconnected it , similar to some modern trackers you can buy shows a route taken and at what speed , but if you do a spirited drive yourself then don’t get caught out , im fussy with garages and like to stay with my car when I can 👍

Had this with VW Derby many moons ago when a Passat was in for recall work, they missed the camera with GPS.

I’ve got a 35£ ebay tracker , you can text it to say if the car starts to move , it sends you a text when it moves , it can then tell you where it is plus how fast 👍
