Revving the ass of your car in a car park?

Have to say it doesn't do anyting for me.
Was at Silverstone few weeks ago for Japfest or whatever it's called.
There was a few revving the nads off the cars and some kind of pops and bangs face-off. Lots of folk filming it.
GF and I had a sideways glance and moved on.

Each to their own, and all that, but the revving just sounds sad and bad for the engine...
Having said that, I quite enjoyed walking around at a similar thing in Greenwich a couple of years ago - lots of different cars and real enthusiasts too (plus the occasional ****-jockey, of course, but that's to be expected).

I don't mind the whole meet scene, but it's so offputting and dangerous when the end bells are in full swing.
When you think what happened to that poor guy Sam Harding in Warrington recently, it sent shudders down my spine. Even just seeing that happen would be beyond imaginable. One life lost, and family and friends deeply scarred.....he was 20 years old.
Wiped out in the blink of an eye. But still the stupidity will carry on no doubt.
I don't know fully what happened up there, and I don't want to be called out on it, but things need to change.

I dont get doing it in a car park really as that's just about ***** waving , but when at the car shows Joe public is there to see the cars and how they sound (prob why its called a SHOW lol) so giving it a few revs and switching the antilag on for a few seconds doesnt hurt anyone or the car lol ,, not all the cars will have a chance to go out on the track and it gives the public a chance to hear them up close ,,, iv been asked countless times to show people my launch control and antilag and "how it sounds" ,,,im not really one to tell people no if there is no harm in it ,, there is videos of me "showing off" at japfest one year but again this was due to a couple of our club members asking me to show them stuff and a crowd gathered within seconds lol

Remember watching day and furious in the UK, and the lad blew his engine on his Impreza revving the pants of it when cold with loads of others camping over night. Lol what a plonker.

Many moons ago, I was camping at a big motorbike festival there were some morons starting their bikes up at night and holding them pinging off the rev limiter.
Just imagine starting an engine from cold and instantly revving it up to ~14k rpm and repeatedly holding it there for 30s.
After about 5 minutes of engine torture and pissing off anyone with a mile, the engine went BANG like a bomb had gone off. Thousands of people in the campsite cheered and laughed in unison!
