Default Kilometres or Miles.

Just a random question has anyone had a Hawkeye UK spec where the mileage was in Kilometres and not Miles.
ive owned 3 in the past and never heard of this, but currently looking to buy another one and the buyer is saying the mileage is in Kilometres and not miles, its a 2007 wrx. Any help appreciated it would mean difference of 30,000 miles on the engine. Thanks.

Republic of Ireland cars from 2005 have km speedos for obvious EU reasons.
Subaru ROI are also part of IM Group (Subaru UK) so specced similar to UK cars.

Isn't Guernsey KPH aswell? I was looking at a car that had been imported from there. Didn't like the no mot history.

I havent tried, but can you not flick between KPH and MPH for the odometer?
it used to be a wind up for people who didnt know with another manufacturer.

i’m pretty sure it’s either kph or mph , you can get a converter for about 40£ , it can be soldered into the loom coming off the gearbox speed sensor under the inter cooler on a new age car

Thanks for all the info, its much appreciated, but looking through the car's history etc looks like he was trying to pull a fast one. Hope everyone is staying safe and well in these crazy times.

person said it was showing 110,000 miles on the clock approx said it was in KM which would make it around 70,000 I think. But no evidence going through the history which might indicate that it is KM.

all the mot history shows miles not kph , 110 k mikes is not too high , the mot history just makes it look like a normal uk car , i’m not seeing any thing on the mot history that makes me think it’s an import or been any thing other than miles though out it’s history

Totally agree 110,000 miles is nothing on these engines its just the seller saying its in KM sent alarm bells ringing to me, but could be a genuine mistake on there part.
