Default KM to Miles

My motor is an import and would of originally been in Kms. So what happens when it gets converted into miles as mine has 74,000 on the clock.
Does the original Kms reading get converted into miles so the whole 74,000 is actual miles or is the actual mileage reading less due to the kms it had done previously
I hope people understand what i'm trying to say as ive reread my post and its confused me but i am still half cut from last night.

74000 is 45880 miles.
So any miles after the 74000 is miles so add them onto 45880.

thanks for the reply, I've had it 5 years and is now 74,000 miles, I'm going to try and find out what the mileage was when it was imported and work it out from there.
So in theory my car hasn't done 74,000 miles???

Mileage - in km at import/conversion time: 123456 x 0.62 = miles, but still reading 123456! From point of conversion...123456 miles + current mileage, say you've driven a further 5000 miles + the = miles at conversion time, is now your actual mileage. If that makes any sence

It also depends if it had mileage correction when it was converted to MPH. It might actually be 74K miles

You need to know how many km's it had on it when it came in ...should be on the import paper work somewhere

I converted my car from km to mph several thousand miles after it was imported. I know the mileage it was at but nobody else does
As i did the change myself there is no proof for when it was done so if/when i sell the car on they would have to take my word on it.

You can only really go from the km's on it when it was imported if it was converted when it was imported. That makes sense i think.
