Hawkeye Headlight Washers
Hi all,
So I was hoping my first post wouldn't be so depressing for me but here it is!
I was out yesterday and somewhere between a 20 mile round trip both of the washers for the headlights decided to leave my bumper leaving two hideous holes!
Its fair to say these parts are now long gone
So after doing some research I believe the correct parts I now need to get this fixed are the following:
Below is the pic of the offside washer hole for reference as to what is missing the other side is exactly the same. Any help will be greatly appreciated here, very keen to get this sorted quickly.

Whatever you do try and find a friendly breaker with all the parts you need and do a deal sharpish.
I bought an 08 hatch with missing nozzle elements and covers. I could not find all the bits for one side on eBay or breakers so ended up after a month buying from Subaru. The (supplied painted only) plastic cover 'squares' were on factory back order, which took another 6 weeks and cost £50 each. The other bits like you need seemed relatively cheap by comparison (£150ish I think).

Thanks for the replies.
So I have had a proper look today and also spoken with Subaru. It seems the parts I require are all on back order for the 'foreseeable future'. Basically says to me don't hold your breath!
I think my new plan will be to remove the headlight washers completely (what is left of them), fill and smooth off the holes then have the bumper resprayed (which was getting done anyway).
Long run will save me some cash as the parts I could get from Subaru was going to cost me over £200 without the covers. Unfortunately trying to find one in the breakers around here is highly unlikely and ebay/selling pages seem to sell bumpers as a whole unfortunately so even if I got a second hand bumper I would still need to get the internal parts.

I may be wrong here, but don't xenon headlights have to have washers compulsory? Maybe that's only when the car leaves the factory?
I doubt an MOT tester would realise or does it even matter?
They are a right pain when you've just washed and waxed the car anyway, so fair play to delete them!

So I looked into this as well. The law states any car with headlight washers built from 2009 is tested during an MOT.
I will find the legal aspect of it later and post it up.

Hmm. The system is bolted to the underbracket for the headlight. Usually what causes damage to these is the bumper being hit. If they 'just parted company' for no reason, it's because someone backed into your front bumper and you didn't notice. Sorry to be the bearer of these tidings. The parts can be gotten from breakers usually, i had to get a set, and bought new covers with nozzles but it was a couple of years ago.
Good luck in getting sorted.

So by the looks of it there is no damage to the bumper which is good news but the washers are still an issue. I have spoken with Subaru and one of the bumper covers for the jets is on back order indefinitely. Because of this i have purchased a second hand bumper (colour coded) with the jet covers still on (quick win and will have a spare bumper).
I am probably going to remove the system or at the very least 'plug' it until i can source the other washer parts from Subaru (£70 for each side). I will have to do this as anyone standing in front of the car at the minute i have the power to soak them
For those interested though - headlamp cleaning devices are now checked on MOTs and if inoperative will produce a minor. In the case of LED or gas discharge systems (such as HID) if the device does not work it is classed as a major. This is only for vehicles first used on or after 1 Sep 2009.
