Default Something is not right?

Ok guys got a question for you all, had my new clutch fitted around 3 weeks ago car has driven fine since until yesterday, when on the way to work when driving the car it will not go above 3500-4000 rpm. Car drives fine below that and revs freely when stationery and no issues except when I try to accelerate and go above 3500-4000 it feels like I have hit the rev limiter and car will have none of it so what could be wrong please.

I had this on the way back from servicing at a Subaru dealer a couple of years ago.

Pulled out to overtake on a short dual section and *wham* hit a brick wall with immediate power cut and it wouldn't go over 4k in any gear.
Sudden and unnerving with cars behind me all expecting me to bomb away.

Limped back to the dealer who ordered a new genuine sensor overnight for £250. Can't remember if it was 02 or maf but it fixed it. I could have gone home and got a cheaper one on line but the dealer fitted for free and aftermarket ones seem a bit hit and miss on the Subarus I've had.

This sounds like a scene from born to race where the dad checks the cam sensor and it had come loose.

it could be totally unrelated to the clutch change , so code read as above , but it could also be related to the clutch change , the neutral position switch or it’s connectors could be playing up and can cause a number of issues including a lack of boost/power , does it always lack power or does it do it on and off ? the neutral position switch sends info to the ecu

thanks for the info mate and no it will not go above 3500-4000 rpm for love nor money when driving, drives as normal below that but then Revs freely when at a standstill.

if you google info around the switch it seems to sound similar to some of the issues you are having ,plus you have had work around that area , it may have just come unplugged , but still needs a code read just to see if any thing else is going on

Check the vac and breather/boost pipes for cracks or breakages or even they might be off near the boost solenoid side have a good check as they do go brittle
