At what age did you own your first fast car? I had a fiesta rs turbo at 24 but insurance was like 2000? I would’ve loved a Subaru at 20 but that would’ve killed me both physically and financially

Was the GSi the 4wd turbo one or the FWD with the Astra engine - always fancied the turbo cavalier or calibra.
I had a Mazda 323 4wd Turbo (the type Mazda rallied) at 21 on my dad's insurance until I could afford it. Still rate it as a sweet neutral handling car and 0-60 was 7 dead which left most things for dead at the time.
Tell you what, some lovely desirable cars owned at young ages above. Cars I dreamt of. My mate had a 250 bhp red escort rs turbo and it was the fastest thing I can remember. Astra gte, nova gte, Renault 21 valver which was quick as well. Cavalier Sri fast as f..k...Astra gsi red top unbelievable...so many good classic cars

There was a 4WD GSi but it didn't have a turbo, that was the Cavalier Turbo 4x4. Both had temperamental transfer boxes. After a few years of trying to find a good Cavalier Turbo (almost bought a Calibra Turbo out of desperation) I chanced across an Impreza Catalunya by accident and bought it.

Rover 620ti
Nova gte
Opel manta
and an old porsche 944

lovely cars there mate, my mate had a rover 620 ti and we thought it was the best car ever
Back in the day and I’m talking the 90’s....the cavalier gsi, Astra gsi , Corsa gsi were the dogs bo110cks...cavalier Sri...then my mate had a escort rs turbo running 250 bhp and we were telling him to slow down, it was an absolute animal at 20 years old
Also had a nissan almera Sri and a primera gt which was awesome.
most fun car I've owned is my old facelift ep3 type r,bought out the inner hooligan and it's the only car I've been caught speeding in lol.
will add pics later
It was a long time ago so no digital pics. Here is my RS turbo next to my brother's 106 quicksilver. It's probably the one car I regret selling. It was a beast and ran 25 PSI boost on high boost (12 on low).

My other mate had a yellow golf gti and that was the bomb lol....all the cars back in the 90’s were so much more iconic. They were fast as... back then but these days there just a car to put in a private collection to make money
Time just moves on so hopefully our Subarus will be in the same bracket one day...back then they were not that special but now they are....my old fiesta rs turbo was h965ucw if anyone knows what happened.
Owned this when I was 25, a 7.5 litre 'shovel nose' Trans Am Firebird 455 HO.
It was stupid fast - but only in a straight line, in the dry when it would lay rubber in every traffic light GP.
In the wet, I'd get overtaken by milk floats and cyclists!
